Once again Gamestec the UK’s leading amusement and gaming machine operator, have shown their charitable side by donating two pool tables to the Wrexham Youth Service in North Wales. “We receive lots of requests for various pieces of equipment and we try and help as many worthwhile causes as we can. Unfortunately though we cant help everybody as that would be near impossible”, commented Stefan Podolanski Gamestec’s Senior Product Manager. ”But as soon as I spoke with Lisa, the Youth Centre manager for the club in Tanyfron, and she explained about the club, the impact it is having with the youngsters in the area and how little equipment they had, we were only to happy to help”.
The Tanyfron Youth Club opened two years ago and since the arrival of the pool table has seen the number of local children attending the club increase dramatically. Lisa Mathews, Youth Worker for the Wrexham Youth Service said “We are really grateful to Gamestec for donating the tables and Stefan for being able to organise this fantastic gesture. When we opened the centre we had nothing, so the pool tables has been a brilliant addition with the kids absolutely loving being able to play and organise competitions between themselves. On behalf of all the children, we would like to say a big thank you to Gamestec”.
Paul Rogers Local Councillor for the Brymbo Ward said “When the local council fought to keep the centre open, it was always our intention to offer somewhere safe and secure for the kids to go to, and with this extremely generous gesture from Gamestec and the great effort Lisa and her hard working team provide, the centre can continue to achieve this goal and help keep the community together”.
Gamestec donated both pool tables to the Wrexham Youth Service which operate over 20 youth clubs and drop in centres across the region, helping young people aged 11-25 who live, work or study in the Wrexham area.
