Gamestec Puts Safety First For Staff
10/02/2010Gamestec, the leading player in the UK gaming and amusement machines sector, has launched an innovative Health & Safety and Security information campaign to alert staff to potential personal hazards they may face during the working day, with the onset of the darker mornings and nights.
The initiative, which involves all employees within the business, is the company’s biggest personal safety initiative to date. It has been well received with staff welcoming the accessible and straight forward nature of the campaign. The advice has been delivered both electronically and in a handy pocket sized paper booklet to make it accessible to all staff. Additional guidance has been issued to collectors to help ensure their personal safety whilst transferring monies during the festive period.
Neil Lancaster, HR Director at Gamestec said: “At Gamestec we have a strong health and safety record but know the importance of making sure that everyone is consistently aware of potential risks to prevent complacency, which is why we launched the new campaign. A key feature of a successful business is looking after staff and making sure they can go to work confident that they will return home safely. A large proportion of our staff are on the road making field visits so the dark mornings and nights naturally increase potential risk factors at this time of year. The advice aims to both prevent potential incidents occurring and when an unavoidable incident does occur reiterate procedures to reduce the impact of the incident.”
Maria Burton, a Collector at Gametec Warrington, said: “The advice has been really useful, especially with the nights drawing in. It has helped me be able to perform my job safely and know how to react, if anything unexpected occurs.”
