Gamestec Plans National Launch For Stakes And Prizes Changes
06/05/2009Gamestec, the leading player in the UK gaming and amusement machines sector, is ready to ensure its customers take full advantage of the changes in stakes and prizes legislation by carrying out a major roll out of new machines across the country.
They’re planning to deliver new machines to pubs, gaming centres and other venues over the next three months.
This massive roll out begins as soon as the new stake and prize levels come into effect after midnight, in the early hours of Friday 12th June, so licensees and players can take full advantage of the biggest increase in stakes and prizes ever. Jackpots increase to £70 with players able to stake from 25p up to £1 for the first time.
Over 8,000 machine changes will take place in the first month alone with Gamestec expecting to complete the whole exercise within 12 weeks from start to finish.
As well as the sheer scale of replacing so many machines, the Gamestec operation includes the training of staff, licensees and the promotion of the machines in venues. In preparation, a comprehensive Licensee Refill Guide has been produced supported with the training of 9000 licensees on the importance of maintaining adequate float levels in machines to support the new prize levels available.
Gamestec Business Managers are geared up to provide full support to licensees to help them make the most of the change-over and Gamestec Assist, the company’s call centre, is fully equipped to deal with any issues that arise from the new machines.
Managing Director Chris Butler says there is a lot of work to do: “We are taking the change in stakes and prizes very seriously because it’s a real opportunity for licensees to help improve their business at a time when they most need it.”
“As soon as the change in legislation was confirmed, we started planning to make sure we could deliver new machines, information and advice to the licensees we work with everyday.”
Operation’s Director Peter Collinge says it’s going to be a major logistical operation: “Our vans will be travelling over 600,000 miles over the next three months, our business managers will be helping over 9,000 licensees and we have produced eye-catching POS material for players as well which we will be fitting to machines.”
“We are confident we have got it right and we look forward to being amongst the first to switch on the new £70 gaming machines on Friday morning.”
