Comment from Peter Davies, Business Development Director At Gamestec

peterdavies“We understand the pub industry is going through difficult times so we are working with licensees to help offer an entertainment mix which draws in customers, encourages them to stay longer in the pub and is within licensee’s budgets.

“It is important that licensees make the most of their entertainment offering by doing simple things like making sure games machines are switched on, in a good position, topped up and a plentiful supply of change is made available to encourage play.

“Pool tournaments are a great way of drawing customers in and build a real community spirit. We have also been running networked gaming tournaments on our digital machines which have proved popular, as well as promotions reviving traditional pub games such as darts and dominos.

“On 12th June new legislation raising the maximum stakes for gaming machines in pubs from 50p to £1 and increasing the maximum prize value from £35 to £70 comes into force. Gamestec are making preparations to help licensees make the most of the changes. We feel the new stake and prize levels will be extremely attractive to new and existing players which will drive additional revenue for pubs at a time when it is most needed.

“We understand licensees are looking to cut costs, which is why we offer products to suit all pockets. A great example of this is our range of jukeboxes which includes our lowest cost digital jukebox to date. This product allows pubs, who had previously been priced out, to enjoy the benefits of digital music.”
